Nods to honor gun depiction

The Entertainment Industries Council and the Joyce Foundation are launching the EDGE Awards. The accolades, which stand for Entertainment Depiction of Gun Education, will recognize feature films, tele-films and series that promote firearm safety and discourage gun violence. The first EDGE Award will be presented Sept. 3 to the family of late actor James Colburn for his last film, "American Gun," during the International Student Film Festival of Hollywood. Other inaugural honorees include CBS' "Judging Amy," NBC's "The West Wing," HBO's "Six Feet Under," Fox's "Boston Public" and the WB Network's "7th Heaven."
