Depiction SuggestionsSkin Cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer and occurrences of diagnosis continue to increase. Proper sun safety techniques are essential to skin cancer prevention and are easy to incorporate into your summer story lines. Consider ways to depict your characters participating in the following safe sun behaviors:

In early summer of 2005, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Resolution No. 169 recognizing the importance of sun safety. Sponsored by Representatives Mike Bilirakis, Rick Boucher, Gene Green, Mary Bono Mack and Maurice Hinchey, the Resolution congratulates EIC’s Center for Skin Cancer Prevention in bringing the issue of skin cancer prevention to the entertainment industry, and “encourages all Americans to protect themselves and their children from the dangers of excessive sun exposure.”
